In photography and in life, I'm drawn to vibrant color, happy energy, natural scenery, and a great story.

Since 2001, my photography business has led me to destinations around the country to document people's stories. Years of experience have taught me how to make people feel comfortable and confident in front of a camera. I make an effort to get to know the people I work with, so my photos can reflect genuine aspects of their personalities and relationships.

I'm known for a joyful style of photography with candid authenticity, bright colors, and lots of heart.

I'm married to a brilliant and hilarious software engineer, and we have two young children and a dog. When I'm not working, you'll probably find me hiking at Great Falls, paddleboarding at Lake Anne, or singing karaoke with insufficient talent. My perfect day would involve an outdoor adventure with my family, a delicious vegetarian dinner, and a good book or a bad reality show.

LOCATION

I'm lucky to live at Lake Anne in beautiful and dynamic Reston, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. As you can tell by my diverse portfolio, I love to travel and have worked in locations all over the country.

BACKGROUND

Before starting my photography business 17 years ago, I earned a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia, with an emphasis in Photography Education. I've been a photographer since childhood, with many years of formal training.
